Press Release: Sindicatum wins Commodity Business Awards 2013

Commodity Business Awards 2013
Singapore, 25 November 2013. Sindicatum Sustainable Resources Group has won the Commodity Business ‘Excellence in Emissions Markets’ Award as well as a special commendation for Excellence in Market Policy and Advisory. The awards were announced and presented at a ceremony in London on 20 November 2013.

The Commodity Business Awards shortlisted organizations that demonstrated “broad talent and sophisticated expertise in the emissions sector with a dedicated team of professionals offering specialised services, advice and market based solutions.” This is the third year running that Sindicatum has been the recipient of a Commodity Business Award. The competition included EDF Trading, BNP Paribas, Morgan Stanley and other global companies.

Sindicatum Group CEO, Assaad Razzouk, commented: “We are delighted that Sindicatum’s renewable energy portfolio is being recognized once again with this leading industry award. We hope our success will draw attention to the importance of carbon pricing and its critical role in effective international climate action initiatives. Governments discussing climate change mitigation and adaptation must act collectively and decisively to phase out fossil fuel subsidies, to price natural capital into companies’ financial performances and to introduce a carbon price across their economies, because carbon markets represent up to 50 percent of the solution in the fight against climate change.”
