Sindicatum Projects
Low Carbon Energy, Malaysia: RANHILL, Sabah
The Ranhill project is a 190 MW natural gas fired combined cycle power plant for provision of clean electricity in Sabah, Malaysia on the island of Borneo.
The project utilizes two 65 MW gas turbine generators, two waste heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine generator. Electricity from the Ranhill project emits 40% less carbon than other power plants in the region. The project is currently at the validation stage of the UNFCCC approval process and will generate 6.3 million CERs over its life.
Sindicatum has an advisory role on this project. Sindicatum is using its climate change expertise to act as a consultant (in particular to develop the CDM documentation and to manage the registration and on-going CER verification processes).
