Low Carbon Energy, China: GELI BRIDGE, Guizhou Province

The Geli Bridge project is a 150.0 MW capacity hydro-electric plant in Qingshuihe River in Guizhou Province, China. The plant generates electricity through the use of gravitational force of falling water.

The project was registered with the UNFCCC in December 2010, and is expected to generate 8.1 million CERs over its life.

The project utilizes two units of 75.0 MW turbine generator sets made from Tianjin Tianfa. Other construction works of the project includes dam gates, flood discharge gates, power house and switch station, etc.

Sindicatum has an advisory role on this project. Sindicatum is using its climate change expertise to act as a consultant (in particular to develop the CDM documentation and to manage the registration and on-going verification processes).
