AG Technology

Sindicatum applies a range of technologies to its Agricultural Solutions projects.

We define the Agricultural sector to include activities related to agricultural crop production; forestry; the production of all types of agricultural animals, including both land animals and aquatic animals; and agricultural products in a nursery or greenhouse. The sector produces very large amounts of waste in its daily operations including biological waste; water and waste water; solid wastes; hazardous wastes; universal wastes; used oils and septic wastes.

Technology solutions are varied and range from the established solution (sometime thousands of years old) to the innovative or experimental.

Our focus is primarily on organic biomass material, water and waste water and on using biomass as a raw material in the production of sustainable resources (including biogas and clean energy) which act as a substitute for non-renewable materials.

Our biomass to sustainable resources technologies include:

  • Technologies to modernize sugar mills and installing new and efficient power generation technology while better utilizing the waste bagasse generated in the sugarcane milling process. By doing so, Sindicatum can satisfy the mill’s internal steam and power requirements whilst producing significant amounts of excess power for export to the grid.
  • Operating biomass briquetting centers which process biomass into a clean fuel
  • Processing coconut husks using decorticating technology to separate the husks into fiber and pith. After a series of processes such as shredding, drying, washing and filtering the once waste products can be transformed into coco-peat and coco-fiber, which are valuable products both in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors

For Water and Waste-Water:

  • We apply an anaerobic digestion technology to treat waste-water (e.g. from starch and ethanol plants) and create a controlled and enclosed version of the natural organic waste breakdown process in order to capture and exploit an otherwise wasted energy resource, using a uniquely designed lagoon process which utilizes mixers, baffles and a thick high-density polyethylene cover and is proven to remove organic matter. The digester is highly refined, robustly engineered and offers the highest biogas yield on the market
  • WeatherTec is an Sindicatum technology which converts excess atmospheric humidity into water via ground-based emitter systems which aggregate atmospheric water vapor into clouds, and then into precipitation. The technology, which is environmentally friendly (its power usage is minimal and as low as 500 W), has been successfully trialed in the UAE and Australia with visual and quantifiable results and benefits having been confirmed. The rainfall that is created can be measured and quantified and applications include fog dissipation as well as water storage in catchment areas such as reservoirs/dams and aquifers

For Used Oils:

  • Sindicatum employs a novel technology developed in-house to produce high quality and environmentally beneficial biodiesel from various waste products of the edible oil industry. The uniqueness of Sindicatum’s technology rests in a pre-treatment process that has the ability to convert any waste containing high levels of free fatty acid into virgin grade oil which can then be further processed to produce biodiesel. Not only does the biodiesel produced offset the use of polluting fossil fuels and improve local air pollution, it also reduces the amount of waste products traditionally dumped while simultaneously creating a cheaper fuel product for local consumers, generating employment and enhancing national energy independence.
